DIY: Chicken Treat Egg

After searching online and at many local feed stores, I have discovered that many commercial chicken treat containers can be over-priced and cheaply built. So I have came up with my own way to fight against my flocks boredom...The Chicken Treat Egg! With DIY instructions here, you can make one in less than 10 minutes!

                              WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- An old plastic easter egg (If you do not have any, you can buy them here or find them at your local grocery store during or after Easter)
- A powerdrill with a 1-1 1/2 cm thick tip

First, drill two holes on each side of the egg you are using, being careful not to break the egg, then remove any extra plastic.

Your holes shold not be any bigger than 1 1/2 cm. wide on each side so your birds do not run out of food fast. Remember this is a toy, it should keep them entertained for 15+ minutes.

Fill your egg with scratch, layer crumbles and any other chicken treat your chickens hearts desire and VOILA! Your very own handmade chicken treat egg!

Hazel, Blackie, and Gizmo enjoying their new treat.
